实验室凝聚浸大在数学、物理学、化学生物学等基础学科的研究力量，并结合应用生理学、医学、地理、社会科学以及传媒等应用学科，研究包括生命、环境、社会、互联网传媒等复杂系统的行为和健康运行机制。此项跨学科研究平台在中国实属首创，并具有极大的现实意义。实验室不仅可以全面带动浸大的基础学科未来发展，亦可以使我们在复杂系统的研究领域於全港乃至全国占据领先地位。我们计划於三年内招聘多名优秀的研究人员，并於短期内，在公共健康，系统医学等领域取得世界一流的研究成果。
