HKBU marketing scholars and PhD students share insights at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Marketing Academy Conference

Six Faculty members and PhD students from HKBU School of Business (the School), including Dr Wang Danny T.  (Associate Head, Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems), Dr Tang Qing, Dr Zheng Huiyi, Duan Hongyu, Liang Shuyu, and Li Qing, attended and presented their latest research findings at the inaugural "Asia-Pacific Marketing Academy (APMA) Conference from September 23 to 25, 2023 at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, mainland China.  

 

With the “Marketing Theory and Practice Innovations in the Digital Era" theme, the conference attracted over 400 representatives from more than 100 domestic and international universities. Over 200 English papers were presented in 25 parallel sessions, and nearly 50 senior scholars provided feedback and engaged in discussions. Additionally, the conference featured over 30 invited speakers from academia and industry who shared their insights and participated in discussions with the attendees.

 

The APMA conference was organised by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Marketing (the Alliance), which was formed in 2023 by Sun Yat-sen University, along with other prominent institutions, including South China University of Technology, Shenzhen University, Hong Kong Baptist University, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, and Macau University of Science and Technology. The Alliance was formulated based on the framework of the national "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and received approval from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance. It was also duly filed for the record with relevant educational administrative authorities.

 

Dr Wang is currently the Vice Chair of the Alliance. His new appointment will further foster the School’s scholarly exchange and collaboration in the marketing field with institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region.
