An experience sharing session entitled “Research Mixer – Ace Your Grant Application!” was held on May 29, 2023 (Monday) at HKBU’s grand Council Chamber. Distinguished speakers from HKBU include Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean and Chair Professor of the School of Chinese Medicine, and Professor Celine Song from the School of Communication.

Professor Rick Wong, Interim Provost and Acting Vice-President (Research and Development) of HKBU, initiated the event with an inspirational opening remark. He welcomed participants from various HKBU faculties and schools, joining the event in-person and via ZOOM, and introduced the three speakers.

As the Guest of Honour, Professor Wai started the first sharing by stating HKBU’s research excellence and the preparation required for major grant applications. Professor Wai’s enlightening sharing was followed by a Q&A session, in which he provided more advice regarding the participants’ questions.

Afterwards, Professor Lyu and Professor Song shared their valuable experiences, equipping the participants with the knowledge and techniques for grant applications with specific examples. The interested participants raised follow-up questions after both speakers’ illuminating sharing and showed their great appreciation to the speakers.
