We are delighted to announce that the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has awarded grants to 19 researchers from HKBU and our Shenzhen counterpart, the HKBU Institute for Research and Continuing Education.

Among the awarded projects, four were granted under the General Program and 15 under the Young Scientists Fund (Type C), securing RMB 6.31 million in total funding. This result reflects a 18% rise from the previous cycle, extending a three-year trajectory of steady growth in the University’s total NSFC-funded projects.

With expertise in fields as varied as science, business, geography, and Chinese medicine, the awardees will lead a wide-ranging portfolio of projects. Their research covers key fields including artificial intelligence, atmospheric physics and air quality, large language models, behavioural finance, gastroenterology, and oncology.

Congratulations to all the awardees on securing this competitive funding. Their success underscores HKBU’s vibrant research environment and our continued commitment to advancing global knowledge.
