The University has procured a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facility as a major research infrastructure or central research facility to promote individual and collaborative research on transdisciplinary neuroscience studies. To facilitate and plan for the use of the new MRI facility, the HKBU Research Committee would like to survey the researchers' interest in the facility.

The University has established over 50 Research Centres and Institutes to nurture excellence in a range of focus areas and to cultivate interdisciplinary research.
David C Lam Institute for East-West Studies
David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies (LEWI) is a consortium of 28 universities from North America, Europe and Asia. The Institute, with Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) as the host institution and base, was established in 1993 with the aim to foster inter-disciplinary social science and humanities research and cultivate collaborative scholarship between the East and the West.
HKBU-UIC Joint Institute of Research Studies
The HKBU–UIC Joint Institute of Research Studies (JIRS) was established jointly by the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Beijing Normal University–Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in July 2008. It aims to create research and postgraduate training opportunities for both institutions, through which they can complement one another in research and development.
Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology
Named after Professor Jao Tsung-i, the world-renowned expert in Chinese classical studies who serves as its honorary permanent director, the Academy was established for the purpose of understanding and preserving Chinese cultural heritage, through focused research and engaged teaching.
Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment
The Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment, ARCPE was established in mid-2008 with funding support from private donations from the Sino-Forest Corporation, the Wofoo Foundation and Mr. Allen T. Y. Chan. The Centre aims to improve the environmental quality of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region by creating a platform for various stakeholders in Hong Kong and PRD to tackle trans-boundary pollution problems at sources, advocating the governments on environmental policy, and providing solutions for the industries.
State Key Laboratory
State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis (SKLEBA) was established in 2013 in partnership with State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Eco-toxicology in Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (RCEES, CAS). It is an interdisciplinary research platform focusing on three correlated fields, namely environmental science, biological science and material science.
Institute of Creativity
The Institute of Creativity is a high-powered think tank and a rich wellspring of new ideas at the University. It aims to provide a home and workplace where students, researchers and faculty members of the University can interact and exchange ideas with world-class scholars.
