[Call for Applications] BU Ideas Galore! ArtTech x Innovation

The Knowledge Transfer Office is organising a brand-new competition – BU Ideas Galore! HKBU researchers and students who are working on ideas that are ArtTech or Innovation related may take this opportunity to showcase the world your research findings and solutions to real-world problems in a 3-minute video!

Winning individuals/teams will not be only entitled to cash prizes but also opportunities to be fast-tracked to incubation programmes and various funding schemes!

Themes

The competition welcomes ideas that fall into these two themes (1) ArtTech and (2) Innovation. Participating individual/team with proven track records are welcome to join the competition.

Competition Structure

All participants are required to go through a semi-final. Shortlisted individuals/teams will advance to the final competition. Participants are required to submit a 1-minute video in English for the semi-final; and a 3-minute video for the final competition. Only one presenter is allowed in the presentation.

Relevant video submissions should at least cover the following questions –

ArtTech –

1.      What is your project about?

2.      What is the value of your ArtTech project?

3.      What do you expect audience to experience in your ArtTech project?

Innovation –

1.      What problem are you solving?

2.      What impacts does your project bring to the society?

3.      Commercialisation value

Eligibility

1. Individual/Team with proven track records may apply

2. For team application i.e. two members or above, at least one member is a BU student (Undergraduate/Postgraduate) or staff (Researcher/Professor); other members outside the institution are also welcomed

Prizes

Cash Prizes –

Champion: HK$8,000

1st Runner-up: HK$5,000

2nd Runner-up: HK$3,000

Other Prizes -

• Consideration to be fast-tracked to HKSTP Ideation Programme / Cyberport CCMF / TSSSU 
• Bonus scores in KTP / RISE / MPCF application vetting
• Free promotion and exhibition opportunities at University & public events
