The Institute of Creativity (IoC) “CxC” Series features duo-led dialogues between two world-class professors to stimulate scientific inspiration, drive academic exchange, and foster impactful research collaborations. As the series flagship, the inaugural event will spotlight the IoC as a prestigious platform that connects HKBU with world-renowned scholars, elevating the University’s global research visibility and academic environment. In its original conception, the "CxC" stands for Chair Professor + Chair Professor, bringing together leading minds to join hands in showcasing HKBU's research strengths.

 

For this inaugural session, organised in partnership with the School of Chinese Medicine, we present: "The Cell That Cleans Itself: From a Novel Discovery to New Hope for Brain Diseases", exploring the science of autophagy—the cellular self-cleaning process—and its therapeutic potential for neurodegenerative disorders.
 
The discussion will feature two distinguished scholars:
