Building new pathways to careers in the ICT and creative industries

Project Description

To address Hong Kong’s rising demand for skilled employees in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Creative Technology and Innovation (CTI) sectors, the government has promoted Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET). Established in 2019, the CLAP-TECH partnership — funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and involving Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), industry partners, and secondary schools — prepares students for these sectors through research-driven pedagogical innovation, industry-focused curriculum, and work-integrated learning. This initiative, led by the Communication and Media Studies faculty, has significantly enhanced students’ knowledge, soft skills, dispositions, and career planning.

[Career Mentorship Programme] CLAP-TECH invites industry partners to participate in the Career Mentorship Programme, providing secondary students with a unique opportunity to learn from professionals and helping them explore future career paths.
