HKBU Symphony Orchestra presents Annual Gala Online Concert featuring renowned pianist Colleen Lee

The Premiere of the Annual Gala Online Concert of the HKBU Symphony Orchestra will be presented to the public by means of online platforms on 3 July (Friday) at 8:00pm. 

The Orchestra will be conducted by its music director Professor Johnny M Poon, Head of the Department of Music. The concert will feature the renowned pianist Ms Colleen Lee Ka-ling, who will perform with the Collegium Musicum Hong Kong.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s gala concert of the HKBU Symphony Orchestra will be presented for the first time in an online format. The Orchestra’s performance (30 June) at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre was recorded and made available to the public through YouTube and Facebook from 3 July at 8:00pm to 31 July at 11:00pm. The concert will feature Charles Ives’ The Unanswered Question, Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 in D Minor: VI. Langsam (Ending), Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G Major, KV453, Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 in E Minor, Op.27: III. Adagio and Vocalise, Op. 34, No. 14.
