Each year, the AAAS Council elects members whose “efforts on behalf of the advancement of science, or its applications, are scientifically or socially distinguished.” The 2021 Class of AAAS Fellows consists of 564 international distinguished leaders in science, engineering and innovation, including Yann LeCun, who is 2018 Turing Award Winner. The full list of 2021 Fellows can be found here; this year only three newly elected fellows are from China: two from Mainland China, and one from Hong Kong.
