Professor Tong Tiejun bestowed at the 2025 Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Awards

 

Professor Tong Tiejun from the Faculty of Science has been honoured with the Second-Class Scientific and Technological Advancement Award under the 2025 Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Awards.  

 

The awarded project “The Key Technological Innovations and Applications in the Development and Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines” was completed with Professor Tong’s support on statistical methodology. The research team introduced 11 vital technologies for the development of clinical practice guidelines, invented four technologies and models for the digitalisation of clinical practice guidelines, and established three technologies for real-time evaluation and decision-making support in clinical settings. 

 

The project has published a total of 722 papers. Among these papers, 298 were indexed by SCI and cited in prestigious medical journals like JAMA, with the highest cited paper attracting 6,543 citations.   

 

The project also secured 20 patents and registered 52 software copyrights. Additionally, it formulated 23 national, group, and industry standards. These standards have not only played a positive role in improving clinical diagnosis and treatment as well as clinical service capabilities, but have also contributed to the development of clinical disciplines.
