香港浸會大學頒授獎項表彰傑出研究人員

We are delighted to announce that the grand annual awards presentation ceremony of the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance 2025 was successfully held on 9 May 2025 (Friday). Four prestigious researchers were awarded for their exceptional achievements in scholarly work, in research supervision, and as early career researchers. 

 

Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work

Professor Zhu Furong from the Department of Physics has made significant contributions in the realms of high-performance organic electronic devices. Professor Zhu’s influence in the field is exemplified by his recognition as one of the world’s top 2% most-cited scholars by Stanford University. His rich portfolio of works includes more than 130 research papers in top-tier journals, including “Nature Communications”, “Science Advances” and “Advanced Materials”, among others. Furthermore, he also received multiple regional and international innovation awards for his inventions.

Outstanding Performance in Research Supervision

Professor Kimmy Chan from the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems is a highly reputed academic in the marketing field. She established an extensive body of high-calibre studies while simultaneously serving in editorial roles at numerous top-tier journals. Professor Chan consistently sees herself as a facilitator and advocate, dedicated to guiding students in their acquisition of knowledge and their personal development. Over the past years, Professor Chan has supervised 13 doctoral students who progressed to resounding success, with many winning prestigious accolades for their impactful dissertations.

Outstanding Performance as Early Career Researcher

Professor Li Yupeng from the Department of Interactive Media is a rising star on the international academic stage, recognised for his influential interdisciplinary research in communication, artificial intelligence (AI), and networking. His growing reputation is supported by a proven track record of academic leadership, international recognition, and securing research grants. As a visionary interdisciplinary scholar, Professor Li pioneers cutting-edge research in trustworthy social computing and threat-resilient AI. He addressed two critical challenges in building safe, reliable, and human-centered AI systems for social media, networked environments, and digital communication.

 

 

Xu Jun

Professor Xu Jun from the School of Chinese Medicine - Teaching and Research Division focuses on establishing a robust quality control system for Chinese medicines to ensure their safety and efficacy. Professor Xu was among the first researchers to reveal the detrimental impact of sulphur fumigation on the quality of Chinese medicines. His subsequent research led to a groundbreaking approach to inspecting sulphur-treated Chinese herbal medicinal products through a new chemical marker. The approach was awarded the Gold Medal at the 4th Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions.
