Congratulations to Dr Chow Chi Ho, Associate Professor of Practice from the School of Chinese Medicine (Clinical Division), for being awarded the Chinese Medicine Applied Studies and Research Funding Scheme (B2) under the “Industry Support Programme” of the Chinese Medicine Development Fund.

Dr Chow will receive funding of over HK$ 1.2 million to support his awarded project entitled “中醫手法治療頸源性頭痛的臨床隨機對照試驗及患者觀點質性研究”, in which he will analyse the safety and feasibility of treating cervicogenic headache (CGH) by traditional Chinese cervical manipulation therapy. Through clinical trials, focus group studies and questionnaire studies, Dr Chow aims to provide fundamental evidence for future research, standardisation and digitalisation of manual therapy.

The Chinese Medicine Development Fund is supervised by the Health Bureau and was put into operation in June 2019, with the main purposes of promoting the development of the Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine drug sectors, enhancing the industry standard, nurturing Chinese medicine talents, promoting Chinese medicine-related research and enhancing public knowledge and understanding of Chinese medicine.
