Seven HKBU researchers have been awarded the Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF) under the key funding scheme of Environmental Research, Technology Demonstration and Conference (RTDC) 2022-2023. The seven projects received a total of HK$5.7 million, ranging from HK$0.5 million to HK$1.3 million for each awarded project.

The ECF was set up by the HKSAR Government to provide funding support for educational, research and other projects and activities relevant to environmental and conservation matters. The key objectives are to promote individual behavioural and lifestyle changes to achieve sustainable development, and develop or introduce innovative technologies and practices to improve the environment and conserve resources. RTDC is one of the three major funding schemes under the ECF.
