Prof. Jun Wang Shares Insights on Big Health Industry

Prof. Jun Wang, founder and CEO of GeneHarbor Biotechnologies, delivered a distinguished lecture titled “Big Health Industry: Before and Beyond Medicine” on 29 September 2022.

 

“Big Health” industry has gained increasing popularity among investment circle. The current focus of the industry is medicine, bio-medicine in particular. However, nutritional supplements and functional foods represent much bigger market and brighter future predicted by both scientific principle and commercial logics.

 

In this lecture, Prof. Wang cataloged the major categories of nutritional supplements that genuinely benefit human being; and elaborated NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide), a newly emerging “unprecedent & close-to-ideal” antiaging product in details.  He believed that the synthetic biology platform technology that GeneHarbor has developed would play an important role in the new era of Big Health Industry.

 

About the speaker

Professor Jun WANG, PhD (Molecular Biology), University of Winconsin-Madison, was an academic staff in the Biochemistry Department of the CUHK during 1992-2003. He is the founder/CEO of GeneHarbor (Hong Kong) Biotechnologies Ltd, a world-leading synthetically biology company with a numbers of original technology innovations. Focusing on the development of novel enzymatic synthesis of health products, he has been working in universities, biotech companies in China, USA, Australia and Hong Kong for over 40 years, and is the inventor/co-inventors of more than 100 patents. GeneHarbor, the company he created has been named Hong Kong’s only unicorn enterprise in the field of biotechnology at the end of 2021.
