HKBU researcher Professor Zhang Jianhua once again listed on “Best Plant Science and Agronomy Scientists”

Professor Zhang Jianhua, Associate Vice-President (Global Research Collaboration) and Chair Professor in Plant Biology of the Department of Biology of HKBU, has once again been ranked as one of the "Best Plant Science and Agronomy Scientists", with a world ranking of 28 and a China ranking of 4 this year, in the 2nd edition of Research.com, an international academic ranking portal.

 

As an internationally renowned scholar and an expert in the areas of plant stress physiology and water-saving cultivation of field crops, Professor Zhang was selected by the prestigious scientific journal Nature as one of the “Five crop researchers who could change the world” in December 2008 for his research, focusing primarily on water-saving irrigation in China. His achievements have been widely recognised through several awards including the State Natural Science Award and the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award from the State Council of China. He has published extensively with 40,409 citations and a D-index of 108.
