History project wins digital humanities award

The project is partly funded by the Quality Education Fund. Launched in 2018, it aims to use geographic information systems to build an online map of the Battle of Hong Kong and a historical database of the British military installations in Hong Kong during the Second World War. Educators, conservation professionals, tourists and others who are interested in history can all use the innovative resource. 

Dr Kwong expressed his gratitude to the University for its support, in particular the Department of History, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Digital and Multimedia Services Section of the University Library, the Knowledge Transfer Office, and the Communication and Public Relations Office.

The Digital Humanities Awards were established in 2012, and the winners are selected through public nominations and voting.
