HKBU Research Office hosts the first event of Research Mingle

BACK

The first event of the Research Office’s brand-new event series “Research Mingle” was joyfully held on September 7, 2023 (Thursday) at HKBU. Various members of the HKBU research community were brought together to get to know and learn from others from different disciplines, fostering innovative research ideas, transdisciplinary collaborations, and a vibrant research culture.

In the cozy room with soft music playing and hot coffee and tea being served, everyone was interested in getting to know fellow researchers from other disciplines and started chatting with one another. The curious participants were seated in small circles according to their interested schemes, together with the 12 grant awardees as the facilitators of the mingling session.

After the insightful sharing of Mr Ivan Lau, the Manager from the Research Office, and Dr Mu Jingwen, the Director (Institutional Research and Strategic Planning) of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, the fruitful mingling session started with in-depth discussions on various grant applications and researchers’ captivating research initiatives.

In the end, group representatives shared with everyone the key takeaways from their group’s discussion, enabling all enthusiastic participants to learn valuable tactics and skills from others’ experiences.
